National Band Competition (Actual)
Leaving the results aside, the NBC (which is my last performance with the alumni) has been an extremely fun (especially with THE saxophone section). The configuration for this band competition was kept to the bare minimum i.e. there was no room for any mistakes or errors at all. Ben made an extremely good selection of players...
Me - Alto Sax I
Wan Cai + Melvin (who doubled up on the sop) - Alto Sax II
Yu Zhong - Tenor
Xavier - Bari
Had mixed feelings during the last rehearsal. On the one hand, i was calling some people from the clarinet section to ask them to wake their bloody ideas up (before they killed the whole band). On the other, i really did not want this rehearsal to end. Even though we did not achieve what we ideally though was possible, this marked a new stage in the alumni. But since this "stage" is still in an infancy state, i suppose things are just going to be a wee bit unstable.
Results are out and we just have to accept it. Some of us may wonder why we got the sliver medal. But i must say that we got this sliver medal with all our heart and soul. We participated as the "Saints Alumni Band" with Sebestian, Ben Lim and Emerald as guest players to cover missing parts. We did not go for the competition with a large component of our band consisting of guest players. I think this is something that we can, should and must be proud of. We kept the flame burning brightly ever.

Thank you so much
Saints Alumni for this wonderful journey

Who cares abt the results.. Pratas are more important...
What is my next aim...
The Hamamatsu Music Academy in Tokyo next July... When you are there, there is NO MORE room for any more mistakes.... cos you would be under his tutorship...
